About WheyCompare
WheyCompare is a price comparison site for whey protein and creatine sold in Australia, built by one lifter who got tired of doing the maths in his head every time he ran out of WPC.
Why this exists
Most "best whey protein" articles online are paid placements or guess-by-feel rankings. Price comparison sites in Australia mostly cover electronics and flights, not supplements. Retailers' own sites all look great in isolation, but the only way to know if you're getting good value is to compute price ÷ kilograms of actual protein and compare that number across stores. So that's what this site does, automatically, every day, with no opinions about which brand "tastes best".
Who's behind it
One developer. Australian. Lifts. Drinks a lot of whey.
Not a brand, not an affiliate network, not VC-backed. Just one person who's good at writing software and wanted a tool that didn't exist.
How it stays honest
The leaderboard is sorted by value, computed from extracted product data. Nothing in the ranking logic looks at whether a retailer pays us commission. The code is small enough that one person can verify it; if you want to see how rankings are computed, the Methodology page lays it out.
Affiliate income (see Disclosure) funds the hosting and the time. It doesn't influence the rankings.
Contact
If you find a wrong price, a missing product, or want to suggest a retailer to add, reach out: see contact details at the bottom of this page or open an issue on the project repo.
